A choreographic and sonic conversation between two owls on the meaning of life

EUPHORIA is a choreographic and sonic conversation between two owls on the meaning of life.

Two hybrid, half-owl, half-human figures awaken, discover each other and come alive with abundant, growing energy. They reach a paroxysmal state that calls for a new ecology in their relationship to each other and to the world. These two strange beings go through bizarre and poetic situations, revealing the derisory and splendid nature of life. The piece is a fantasy that aims to awaken in us a sense of wonder. The aim of this choreographic piece is to maintain the child's strongest asset: the capacity to marvel. Hearing and smell are well-known senses, but wonder is also a sense, highlighted by Caroline Breton in reference to marine biologist Rachel Carson's work, The Sense of Wonder.

EUPHORIA will premiere on March 5, 2025 at L'étoile du Nord in Paris. The piece is co-produced by KLAP Maison pour la danse in Marseille, l'étoile du nord - scène conventionnée pour la danse, Les Hivernales - CDCN d'Avignon and the Watermill Center in New York. For this project, Caroline Breton received the Bourse à l'écriture danse from the Fondation Beaumarchais-SACD, and will benefit from a long-term residency at the CND in 24-25.
