Happy New Year 2023 !
The Francis Kurkdjian Endowment Fund wishes you all the best for a fulfilling and meaningful year.
May it be the best to each of you in this new year, which is also an opportunity to thank you for your interest, your support and your loyalty.
The work of our project leaders in 2022 is leading to a calendar for 2023, punctuated by their representations. The month of January is a time of intense preparation for the performances to come. Indeed, following the successful classical music concert in front of their comrades, under the baton of conductor Chloé Dufresne, the inmates of Melun prison will accompany the musical ensemble with their percussion instruments during the final performance on 17 February at the Maison de la Mutualité. This moment, which promises to be very moving, will also leave room on stage for the beneficiaries of Secours populaire to perform danced and sung parts inspired directly by their life stories.
On stage and off, Bintou Dembélé will shake up the operatic codes with her dancers in a singular performance called G.R.O.O.V.E produced especially for the Lille Opera on 3 and 4 March. Against a backdrop of marronnage, the institution will summon street dances to take its audience to new frontiers.
As for the association What Dance Can Do, a step will be taken with a first performance this January of the students of class PE2A of the Collège Romain Rolland. For its young allophone minors with difficult migration paths, the ambition will be to show that dance is also a cultural medium of inclusion.
Finally, this year is an opportunity for us to study new requests for support. A tab is available on our website from 1 January to 31 March to welcome new projects.
2023 promises to be rich for all and we invite you to follow the news of each of these projects on our website www.fondsfranciskurkdjian.org or by subscribing to our newsletter here.
